Alexander Serdyukov, a 3rd–year student of the Literary Creativity program (workshop of D.N. Korostelev), became a participant in the School of Criticism, which will be held in Yasnaya Polyana.

– A few days before accepting applications, I gathered my courage and decided to participate in the competition, – says Alexander, – I had to write an essay comparing the concept of family happiness in any work by Leo Tolstoy with the work of a chosen modern Russian author. In my essay I compared the novel "Anna Karenina" and the novel "Birth" by Alexei Varlamov. At the School of Criticism itself, we will attend literary seminars led by mentors. Each seminar will be supervized by a mentor and dedicated to a particular novel. I want to work with Alexey Varlamov, because I am familiar with his novels, and I am interested in working with him as a critic.

We wish Alexander fruitful work at the School of Criticism!
